Hey! I'm Rachel Sanoff.

I'm an editor & freelance writer in LA.

I'm currently an editor at digital sex education platform O.school. There, I edit and write reported features, personal essays, and news about health, body image, gender, pop culture, sexuality, relationships, and dating. (You can see the sections I edit here and here.)

Previously, I spent three years as the features editor at HelloGiggles, where I wrote and edited longform essays, op-eds, interviews, columns, and news. My work at HG spanned lifestyle, entertainment, and politics. Before that, I was a lifestyle news writer for Bustle, where my work especially focused on sexual health and reproductive justice. My reporting has been included in the "best commentary on the abortion rights movement" for 2016 by the Women's Health Policy Report/National Partnership for Women & Families, cited in a 2019 UNICEF report about digital sexuality education, and referenced on Dictionary.com and in medical journal, Cogent Medicine.

My writing also appears in Jezebel, The Culture Trip, and HuffPost. Additionally, I have edited a cookbook and novel manuscripts, and I've done copywriting for brands including OPI.

I got my Bachelor's Degree in English: Creative Writing (Poetry) with a minor in Labor Studies from UCLA in 2013. After college, I spent some time working at labor justice organizations on a project basis and teaching humanities at a private high school.

I am available for freelance commissions! Head on over to the contact page to get my info and get in touch.
